Ancient Warfare
Ancient Warfare
Ancient Warfare were once the girls who smoked behind the high school gym. They were from distant shores; they spoke in code. They borrowed your brother's Velvets records and talked about bands you wanted to know. They weren't going to stay too long. They buried themselves in drones of words and found guitars, mapping an intimate apocalypse along the way.

Based in Lexington, KY, with roots in both Savannah, GA and the California coast, Ancient Warfare are currently promoting their Spring 2015 debut release with Alias Records, The Pale Horse. Over the course of several emotional and creative years, Ancient Warfare worked with producer/engineer, Duane Lundy of Shangri-La Productions (Vandaveer, Ben Sollee/ Daniel Martin Moore/ Jim James; Dear Companion, Freakbass) to attain what is The Pale Horse. Since 2011, the band has developed a fierce reputation for hard work and dynamic performance, sharing stages with artists such as Raveonettes, Richard Buckner, The War on Drugs, Chelsea Wolfe, Scout Niblett, Mr. Gnome and Lucius. Ancient Warfare's live show flows from hushed harmony vocals to austere, tube-driven waves of sound
Twin Limb
Twin Limb
Twin Limb is a band from Louisville, KY formed by Maryliz Bender (drums, vocals), Lacey Guthrie (accordion, vocals), and Kevin Ratterman (sampled sounds, guitar, percussion).

Guthrie's accordion does some very sinister things, underpinning the music with a luxurious darkness that connects folk and psychedelia. It's the same with the vocals, as Guthrie and Bender wrap their voices one around the other like they're telling secrets, creating another bridge between the familiar and the disarming.

Bender keeps the drums simple and purposeful, often parsing out her beats in short, sharp bursts with a precision that never feels forced. Ratterman is the final wild card, using guitars and samples in unexpected ways that feel both post-punk and experimental. Twin Limb's debut album, Haplo, will be released this Fall, 2016

"A heavy dose of dark, layered, almost psychedelic folk.." Scott Recker, LEO Weekly

"wraps around like a warm blanket almost lulling us into a state of acceptance and calm..." My Old Kentucky Blog

"deep but effortless, with endless layers tied together by the song's pulse and fluid vocals.."Pigeons and Planes
